Title: NCBA Announces National Anthem Contest Winner

DENVER – With a voice as big as Texas, Mollie Beaver was announced today as the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s National Anthem singing contest winner. Mollie will sing the National Anthem at the 2015 Cattle Industry Convention in San Antonio during the Opening General Session Wednesday, Feb. 4 and during the Friday night events on Feb. 6.

Mollie is an 11 year-old Kansas native whose family has been actively involved in the cattle industry for multiple generations. She credits her great uncle with encouraging her to apply for the contest.

As the winner to the National Anthem Singing Contest, Mollie will receive round-trip airfare for two to San Antonio, free convention registration for two, a hotel room for three nights during convention, and western wear from Roper and Stetson. Votes were cast through Facebook and to decide the winner.

“Mollie certainly has a voice to be proud of,” said Bob McCan, NCBA president from Victoria, Texas. “The National Anthem contest attracted a lot of great talent from across the country, and the competition was steep again this year. Those travelling to San Antonio for this convention -- which is on track to be one of the largest and best yet – will enjoy hearing this talented young lady sing.”

The Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA trade show is the oldest and largest convention for the cattle business. This year’s convention will be held Feb. 4-7 and feature meetings and events from the NCBA, Cattlemen’s Beef Board, CattleFax, National Cattlemen’s Foundation and the American National Cattlewomen. Hotel and convention registration can be found online at, or call (303) 694-0305. Registration is required to attend, and the deadline for early registration and a discounted price is Jan. 9, 2015.
