Title:
Wet and Dry Areas
The latest drought update is shown below. It is quite remarkable and there no areas of the USA in widespread drought. While the Four Corners region is still suffering from drier than normal conditions their fortunes have improved greatly. California has experienced ample rainfall and snowfall over the winter and spring and no drought areas are shown there. Notice that all of the Corn Belt and Midwest show no dry areas. It has been a long time since so much of the country has adequate soil moisture.

Of course, too much of a good thing (moisture) can also be a concern. There are areas of the country experiencing flooding and saturated soils. The wet ground has caused planting delays in many areas.
