Policy committee meetings are an opportunity to make your voice heard on important issues impacting the cattle industry. During these committee meetings, attendees have an opportunity to hear updates on major policy developments, share feedback from their state or region, and vote on any policy resolutions brought forward. Take part in NCBA’s grassroots policy process, especially because this is where decisions are made that guide the direction of the association. Voting policy committee members are designated by their state or breed affiliate organizations. To become a committee member, please contact your affiliate organization.

Learn how the Beef Checkoff is supporting consumer preference and increasing beef demand. This session features highlights from Checkoff-funded programs presented by contractors and provides valuable insights for Federation and CBB committee members in support of their committee work. The Beef Checkoff Visionary Award, recognizing an industry leader who has championed the Beef Checkoff while making a positive impact on the beef industry, will also be presented in honor of the recipient’s leadership and vision. In addition, engage in one-on-one conversations with national Beef Checkoff contractors. Ask questions, share feedback and learn more about the programs and people shaping our industry. This session combines an overview of ongoing Checkoff work with opportunities for personal interaction and discussion with contractors.

Checkoff Program Committee Meetings

During these meetings, Checkoff committee members (Federation and CBB) review, score and provide comments on funding proposals for the upcoming fiscal year. Proposals are evaluated through the Consumer Information, Industry Information, International Marketing, Promotion and Research committees, which support programs designed to strengthen consumer trust, build beef demand and support the long-term success of the beef industry. These meetings are open to all attendees; however, committee members have reserved seating at the tables, while guests are welcome to observe from the gallery.

Cattlemen’s Beef Board Meeting

Tuesday, July 14, 4:00 - 6:00 PM

The Cattlemen’s Beef Board Meeting brings together appointed beef and dairy producers, importers, and industry stakeholders to conduct official business and guide the national Beef Checkoff Program. The meeting includes leadership, legal, and financial updates, as well as recognition of 40 Years of the Beef Checkoff and the Checkoff Visionary Award winner. The board will also conduct key business agenda topics. Join this open business meeting to gain insight into how Checkoff investments are reviewed, governed, and directed on behalf of the beef industry.
