WASHINGTON (September 24, 2024) – Today, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Executive Director of Government Affairs Tanner Beymer issued a statement in support of the Continuing Resolution to fund the government through December 20, 2024 (H.R. 9747): 

“This stopgap measure ensures continuation of critical programs used by cattle producers. Government shutdowns close local Farm Service Agency offices, cease publication of essential reports under Livestock Mandatory Reporting, jeopardize animal disease preparedness, and adversely impact farmers and ranchers in several additional ways. We urge Congress to adopt this Continuing Resolution and work quickly to provide rural America the certainty which can only be provided through full-year appropriations.”
